The Vallorbe LQ5150 Round Machinist-Engineers File is a Swiss-made, double-cut file designed for precision material removal in metalworking and engineering applications. Available in two lengths and two cuts, these files offer versatility for a range of shaping and finishing tasks on metal workpieces.
Important: Machinist files (also called Engineers files) are made to a different standard than Jewelers Precision files. Cuts and shapes are different. A Machinist file Bastard cut (marked 1) is coarser than a jewelers file marked 1. A Machinist file will have slightly different dimensions than a Jewelers Precision file.
Lengths on Machinist files are measured from the top or point of the file to the point where the tang begins to angle up to the heel. Lengths on Jewelers Precision files are measured from the top or point of the file to the point where the heel begins to angle down.
