GRS 022-780 C-Max Carbide 1.8mm Round Shank Graver Blanks

GRS C-Max Carbide 1.8mm Round Shank Graver Blanks are engineered with input from some of the world's foremost metal engravers. Designed for fine shading and general engraving work, these blanks are sold individually and represent a refined approach to graver geometry — optimized for professionals who prefer tools shaped and sharpened to a fine-to-medium size.

The 1.8mm round (0.071") profile is the result of careful testing and real-world feedback from professional engravers. The tool is small enough to allow quick sharpening with minimal material waste, yet strong enough to handle the majority of fine metal engraving applications. The round shank shape not only reduces wasted tool metal but also provides a more comfortable feel during use.

These blanks are intended for use with GRS 1.8mm Round Quick Change Tool Holders (part number 104.872). For sharpening, the Easy Graver sharpening fixture (part number 103.700) used with a Diamond Hone system is highly recommended. The QC Tool Holder for 1.8mm Tools (part number 104.852) is made specifically to hold small tools like this blank, delivering the highest level of accuracy when sharpening with diamond hones. C-Max Carbide can also be sharpened by hand using Swiss Ceragloss diamond polishing wheels with a flex shaft or micromotor, available in medium cut blue (part number 110.107) and fine polish yellow (part number 110.113).
