Grobet USA Italian Made Equalling Needle Files

Equalling needle files are parallel in both width and thickness, making them an excellent choice for filing slots, corners, and precision flat surfaces. Measurements are taken at the thickest point of the file. Also called flat files or pillar files.

Starting in 2015, Grobet needle files transitioned from Swiss to Italian manufacture. If you are looking for the original Swiss-made equivalent, Otto Frei carries an extensive stock of genuine Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Equalling (Pillar) Needle Files LA2401 / LAV2401 and Equalling (Pillar) Escapement Files LE3017, available in a wide variety of cuts and sizes. Glardon-Vallorbe is the original manufacturer of Swiss needle files — if your file is marked Swiss Made, it was made by Glardon-Vallorbe of Switzerland.

Needle file lengths are measured tip to tip, including the handle section (tang).
