Foredom M.LX 230V Motor, C.TXR-2 230V Plastic Foot Control Flex Shaft Kit - 230V

Set up a bench flex shaft for stone setting and other low-speed, high-torque rotary work. The Foredom M.LX 220V / 240V flex shaft kit pairs the M.LX 1/10 HP permanent magnet, low-speed, high-torque motor with the C.TXR-2 variable speed foot control in a plastic housing, a combination built for professional jewelry stone setters who need precise control at low speed.

The LX Series is the direct successor to the discontinued EE, R, and original L series motors, engineered for the demands of professional stone setting. Stone setters work at low speed under load, and the M.LX answers with a permanent magnet ball bearing motor rated to a maximum of 5,000 RPM. Rather than bogging down under pressure, the LX Series holds consistent torque at reduced speeds, which also suits hammer handpieces designed to run slowly.

The M.LX Series requires dedicated speed controls and is not compatible with Foredom SR Series controls. The LX and TX series motors are permanent magnet ball bearing motors that run on DC current. The C.TXR-2 and the related TXR, SXR, and EMX controls carry electronics that convert AC current from a wall outlet into the DC current LX and TX series motors require, and they use a shielded plug made to fit the LX and TX motor connection. Despite the similar appearance, they cannot be used with SR series controls.

Handpieces and accessories are sold separately.

Compatibility

• Run the M.LX only from LX and TX series controls: the included C.TXR-2, or another TXR, SXR, or EMX control.
• Foredom SR series controls are not compatible, and LX and TX series controls cannot be exchanged with them despite their similar appearance.
• Well suited to hammer handpiece work, including the Badeco Swiss Made and Foredom 15-15D hammer handpieces, which are designed for lower-speed operation.
