Glardon-Vallorbe Square Escapement Files (LE3020) are Swiss made precision files designed for the exacting work of jewelers, metalsmiths, and watchmakers. Also known as watchmakers files, these square-profile escapement files gradually taper in both width and thickness down to the point, making them ideal for fine detail work in tight spaces. Width measurements are given at the thickest point. File lengths are measured from the tip to the end of the cut — the tang is not included in this measurement.
Manufactured to precise production standards using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship, Glardon-Vallorbe files are made from the finest heat-tempered chrome alloy steel. - Cut grade numbers range from 0 (coarsest) to 10 (finest) — the higher the number, the finer the cut.
- The 55 mm length is available in all seven cut grades; the 65 mm length is available in cut grades 2, 4, 6, and 8 only.
