How we source our metal
These sterling silver 9.0mm spring ring clasps feature an open top jump ring — meaning the top jump ring is not soldered closed — making them significantly easier to attach to chains without additional prep work. This open-top design is the most popular configuration among professional jewelers for its convenience and versatility.
If a fully closed top is required for a finished piece, the jump ring can be closed using a laser welder or spot welder. Important: never use a torch to solder the top ring closed. The heat generated by torch soldering will destroy the tension of the internal spring mechanism, rendering the clasp non-functional.
