14K Yellow Open Top Spring Rings 4mm to 8mm

Spring rings are the most popular type of clasp used for chains worn around the neck — secure, reliable, and easy to use. These 14K Yellow Gold Open Top Spring Ring Clasps are round hollow tubes with a tiny coil spring inside and an attached jump ring for connecting to one end of a chain. A movable, spring-tensioned bolt features a lever; use your fingernail to push the bolt back to open the clasp. The bolt is held firmly closed by the internal spring inside the tubing. Note that opening and closing a spring ring requires two hands.

These clasps feature an open top jump ring for easy attachment to one end of a chain. While the jump ring can be twisted closed, that method is not secure. Do not use torch heat to solder the jump ring closed — the internal spring will be damaged by heat. The correct method is to close the jump ring using a laser welder or tack welder.
