Fretz HMR-304 Embossing Hammer

The Fretz HMR-304 Embossing Hammer is part of the Extra Large Silversmith Hammer line introduced by Bill and Jordan Fretz in 2015, designed for moving thicker, heavy-gauge metals with less physical effort. The substantial weight of these hammers allows the tool itself to do the work, reducing strain on the arm and shoulders — no need for aggressive swinging force.

The HMR-304 features a short, heavy head that is easy to control when working on shallow concave shapes. Its faces are rounded cross-peins, ideal for creating bold texture on fold-formed shapes and for working non-ferrous metals with precision and authority. The head is cast from 422 Stainless Steel with fully polished ends.

The handle meets the high standards Fretz is known for: well-formed, smooth to the touch, and nicely finished. Handles in this Extra Large line are thicker in diameter than those in the Fretz Large Silversmith series, providing a confident grip suited to the increased head weight.
