The Fretz MKR-7-3 is a double-ended insert hammer from the Fretz Maker line, supplied with three interchangeable metal inserts and one nylon insert. Designed for a wide variety of chasing tasks — including fluting, embossing, and creating curves, contours, and textures — this hammer offers exceptional versatility at the bench. Both ends secure their faces with a hex screw, but each end features a different hole diameter: the metal inserts fit only on the narrow end, while the larger nylon end accepts the same diameter tips used on the Fretz HMR-7 insert hammer. The nylon end allows you to work metal without marring the surface. An Allen wrench is supplied to secure the faces.
Fretz Maker hammers are built with hand-polished 420 stainless steel heads matched to oil-finished North American ash handles — delivering the quality, balance, and style the Fretz name is known for at a more accessible price point. Made in Vietnam.
Also available with a set of seven metal inserts — see part number 137.377. Replacement metal inserts are sold separately as a set of seven — see part number 137.377IS. The optional set of nine nylon tips compatible with the larger end is available under part number 137.207A.
