Baldor 340 1/4 Hp 2 Speed Polishing Motor

The Baldor 340 is a 1/4 HP, 2-speed polishing motor built for professional jewelers and metalsmiths who demand reliable, high-performance finishing equipment. Operating at either 1800 RPM (low) or 3600 RPM (high), this is a fixed 2-speed motor — not a variable speed motor. It runs on 115V/60Hz power and is engineered for many years of continuous, trouble-free use in demanding shop environments.

Baldor polishing motors feature sealed ball bearings lubricated for life, protecting the motor from dust and debris without requiring maintenance. The dynamically balanced rotor and shaft deliver vibration-free, exceptionally quiet operation — a meaningful advantage during extended polishing sessions. The Baldor 340 measures 13-1/8" end to end (without spindles attached) and has a shaft height of 4-11/16".

This motor is made in the USA and backed by a full 3-year warranty. Baldor taper-fit spindles are sold separately.

Fitting Spindles or Chucks

The Baldor 340 uses a tapered shaft designed for friction-fit tapered spindles or chuck accessories. Set screw type spindles are not compatible with Baldor tapered shaft motors. To install, firmly tap the spindle or chuck onto the tapered shaft with a mallet or piece of wood until a snug fit is achieved. To remove, unscrew the spindle remover on the motor shaft until the spindle or chuck is pushed free.
