Metal Base-Fits European Charcoal Blocks-140mm X 70mm

This metal base is designed to hold standard size (also called medium size) European charcoal blocks during soldering work. It provides a stable, secure cradle that keeps your charcoal block in place on the bench, helping to protect surrounding surfaces and improve control during soldering operations.

Compatible with two specific European charcoal block styles sold by Otto Frei: the European Compressed Charcoal Block Standard size (154.150) and the European Natural Charcoal Block Medium size (154.178). Both of these blocks measure 140mm x 70mm x 32mm (5-1/2" x 2-3/4" x 1-1/4").

• Untreated new charcoal blocks are slightly larger than the metal base. After wrapping and heat curing (conditioning) your new block, it should fit properly in the base.
• If you do not wrap and cure your block, you may need to lightly sand the sides of a brand new block to fit, or gently stretch the metal sides of the base.
• Charcoal blocks naturally shrink with use, so fit will improve over time.
• Refer to printed or online resources for guidance on how to properly prepare and condition a charcoal block for use.
