Knew Concepts Heavy Duty Steel Bench Pin Riser-10 Lbs.

This heavy duty steel bench pin riser lifts your dovetail bench pin up to a true jewelry-bench height, so you can saw, file, and set with your work near eye level instead of hunched over a low table. Designed by a working jewelry instructor for real classroom conditions, it turns any standard table into a rock-solid, ergonomic bench in seconds.

The bench pin risers are available in two versions: steel and aluminum.

This is the steel version.

Knew Concepts is known for making long lasting, quality tools. For the steel bench pin risers, Knew Concepts designed them around panels of 3/16" solid steel. Which makes them strong enough to park a truck on but it also makes them weigh 10 pounds each. Which is great for stability but not for mobility.  So Knew Concepts also make a version with thick tempered aluminum legs that’s nearly as strong, and only 6 pounds each. The aluminum version is more portable, and still stronger than the table it’s attached to. The two versions are visually identical. The only difference is the material the legs are made from. The other parts are all still solid steel for durability.

The Backstory: 

This riser grew out of a real classroom problem: Brian, the designer behind Knew Concepts, teaches jewelry at a college where the studio only has fixed-height tables that are far too low for serious bench work. Homemade towers helped with height but could not mount modern dovetail fixtures. The solution was a purpose-built steel tower that accepts dovetail tools, is strong enough for daily student abuse, and clamps on or off quickly so shared tables stay flexible.

Notes

Clamp or screw the riser securely to your table before use, then adjust the height so your bench pin sits near chest level for comfortable sawing and setting. Because table thickness and edges vary, choose C-clamps locally that match your specific setup for the most secure hold.
