Understanding Lindstrom Cutting Edge Types

• Micro Bevel: Very slight bevel edge for increased strength while cutting. Leaves a slight peak on one side of the wire. Wide cutting range and superior durability compared to Flush cutters.
• Flush: Leaves a practically smooth cut on one side of the wire. More delicate than Micro Bevel; more likely to be damaged if cutting limits are exceeded.
• Ultra Flush: Leaves a flat surface on one side of the wire. Most limited cutting range and greatest sensitivity to misuse. The most delicate of all side cutter edge types.

Important: Lindstrom cutters are not guaranteed. Cutting capacity limits are rated for soft copper wire only. Metal alloys commonly used in jewelry are considerably harder and will reduce effective cutting capacity. All Flush and Ultra Flush cutters are very delicate and must be used within their specified limits.

If tip damage occurs, it is recommended to grind the undamaged side down to match the damaged side and continue use. Dents in the cutting surface indicate that the hardness of the material being cut has exceeded the limits of the cutter. Lindstrom cutters — as commonly used in the jewelry industry — should be considered consumable, labor-saving tools.
