The Lindstrom 8140 is a Micro-Bevel small oval head side cutter from the professional 80 Series line — engineered for jewelers and metalsmiths who demand precision, durability, and a wide cutting range in a compact tool. With a jaw length of 10.0 mm and a total length of 110 mm, this cutter handles up to 1.25 mm soft copper wire and delivers a near-flat cut on one end of the wire.
The Micro-Bevel cutting edge features a very slight bevel that provides increased strength during cutting. This edge leaves a slight peak on one side of the wire being cut, allowing for a very wide cutting range and a variety of uses. Micro-Bevel cutters offer superior durability compared to Flush cutters.

Important — Please Read Before Use: Lindstrom cutters are not guaranteed. Cutting limits printed on the handles apply to soft copper wire only. Metal alloys commonly used in jewelry are significantly harder and will reduce effective cutting capacity.
All types of Flush cutters are very delicate. If tip damage occurs, it is recommended to grind the undamaged side down to match the damaged side and continue use. Dents in the cutting surface are a clear indication that the hardness of the metal being cut exceeds the limits of the cutter. Lindstrom cutters, as commonly used in the jewelry industry, should be considered consumable labor-saving devices.
The 80 Series is also available in tapered and tapered-relieved jaw designs, and in Flush and Ultra-Flush cutting edge options. Ultra-Flush cutters leave a fully flat surface on one side of the cut but have a more limited cutting range and greater susceptibility to edge damage. Flush cutters leave a practically smooth cut on one side but are more likely to be damaged when cutting limitations are exceeded.
