Lindstrom 8161 Large Oval Head Flush Cut Side Cutters are the most popular Lindstrom side cutter made — offering an outstanding combination of cutting strength and flush performance. Part of the premium 80-Series lineup, these cutters deliver unsurpassed cutting capacity across a wide range of bench applications. The jaw length is 16mm, total length is 125mm, and maximum cutting capacity is 2.0mm. The flush cutting edge produces a near-flat cut on one side of the wire.

Cutting Edge Types — 80-Series Overview

Lindstrom 80-Series cutters are available in three cutting edge options. This model features the Flush edge:

• Micro-Bevel: Slight bevel edge for increased strength and a very wide cutting range. Leaves a slight peak on one side of the cut wire. Most durable of the three edge types.
• Flush: Leaves a practically smooth cut on one side of the wire. More delicate than Micro-Bevel — cutting limits must not be exceeded.
• Ultra-Flush: Leaves a flat surface on one side of the wire. Most limited cutting range and greatest susceptibility to edge damage from misuse.

Important: Lindstrom cutters are not guaranteed. Cutting limits printed on the handles apply to soft copper wire only. Metal alloys commonly used in jewelry are significantly harder. All Flush-type cutters are delicate and should not be used beyond their rated cutting capacity.

Dents in the cutting surface indicate the hardness of the material being cut exceeds the limits of the cutter. If tip damage occurs, it is recommended to grind the undamaged side down to match the damaged side and continue use. Lindstrom cutters, as commonly used in the jewelry industry, should be considered consumable labor-saving tools.
