Understanding Lindstrom Cutting Edge Types

• Micro Bevel: A very slight bevel edge for increased strength and a wide cutting range. Leaves a slight peak on one side of the wire. Most durable of the three edge types.
• Flush: Leaves a practically smooth cut on one side. More susceptible to damage if cutting limits are exceeded.
• Ultra Flush: Leaves a fully flat surface on one side. Has the most limited cutting range and the greatest sensitivity to misuse. The most delicate of all Lindstrom side cutter edges.

Important: Lindstrom cutters are not guaranteed. Cutting capacity limits are rated for soft copper wire only. Metal alloys commonly used in jewelry are significantly harder and will reduce effective cutting capacity. All flush-style cutters are inherently delicate.

If tip damage occurs, it is recommended to grind the undamaged side down to match the damaged side and continue use. Dents in the cutting surface indicate that the hardness of the material being cut exceeded the cutter's limits. Lindstrom cutters — and similar precision cutters as used in the jewelry industry — should be considered consumable labor-saving tools.
