Description

Pull wire down through 31 graduated holes to take it from 3.0 mm to 0.5 mm and hold a true round profile the whole way. This is an Italian-made steel round drawplate from OMO for reducing and shaping soft non-ferrous metals including gold, silver, platinum, palladium and copper alloys. Each hole is precisely graduated to deliver smooth, predictable draw-downs with consistent surface finish.

Notes

  • Anneal between reductions as needed to prevent work-hardening.
  • Use a suitable drawing lubricant to reduce friction and extend tool life.
  • Start from the nearest larger hole and progress in small incremental steps.
  • Store dry and lightly oiled to protect against corrosion.

For soft non-ferrous metals only. Not intended for hard ferrous steels.

How will I be able to tell what size each hole equates to?
Will the measurements be printed on the front of the drawplate or will it be shown on a separate sheet of paper when my order arrives?

None of our Italian made drawplates have measurements printed on the indiviudal holes. They only give you a range (3 a .05) meaning 3mm largest hole, 0.5mm smallest hole. The holes between the largest and the smallest will be graduated but no claim is made to the precise size of a hole between the largest and smallest hole. Youj can use wire that you have measured to be certain of its dimention to find a coresponding hole. We do sell some carbide drawplates with each hole calibrated and marked with sizes.
