These easy-to-use and remarkably affordable Bangle Bracelet Forming Press Steel Die Sets let you create patterned bangle bracelets without the need for an expensive hydraulic press. This is the Fancy Scallop 10 Pattern die set — a 2-part tool steel die that impresses a decorative fancy scallop profile onto wire formed into a bangle shape.

The dies are large enough to form bangle bracelets up to 2-7/8" outer diameter from wire up to 10 gauge (2.6 mm) thick. Compatible with copper, brass, silver, and gold wire, these dies work with plain wire or pattern wire you've rolled yourself using a rolling mill and draw plate.

How to Use

1. Bend your wire into an oval or round shape no larger than 2-7/8" across.
2. Separate the die halves and place the formed wire between them. Use the included aluminum spacers to center round wire; for oval bangles, center the wire carefully by hand.
3. Replace the top die half over the wire.
4. Place the die assembly on a sturdy work surface with a thin urethane or rubber pad underneath to cushion the impact.
5. Strike the top of the die firmly with a weighted rawhide mallet, shot-filled mallet, or large rubber mallet.
6. Remove the bangle and size as needed. Join the ends for a closed bangle or finish the ends for an open bangle.

Notes

Dies are packed in a protective lubricant to prevent rust during shipping and storage. Remove the lubricant thoroughly before first use. After each use, apply a thin coating of oil to all die surfaces to keep them rust-free. Aluminum spacers will deform during use — this is normal and expected.
