These easy-to-use and remarkably affordable Bangle Bracelet Forming Press Steel Die Sets help you make patterned bangle bracelets without the use of an expensive hydraulic press. The Transverse 14 pattern die set is a 2-part tool steel design — similar to ring and hoop presses, but scaled up large enough to form bangle bracelets up to 2-7/8" OD from wire as thick as 10 gauge (2.6 mm). Compatible with copper, brass, silver, and gold wire, these dies let you create both round and oval bangles using plain wire or custom pattern wire made with your rolling mill and draw plate.

How to Use

1. Using wire up to 10 gauge (2.6 mm), bend your wire into a round or oval shape no larger than 2-7/8" across.
2. Separate the die halves and place the formed wire between them. For round bangles, use an included aluminum spacer to center the wire. For oval bangles, center the wire carefully — spacers may still assist.
3. Replace the top half of the die over the wire.
4. Place the die assembly on a sturdy work surface. Use a thin urethane or rubber pad underneath to cushion the blow.
5. Strike the top of the die firmly with a weighted rawhide mallet or other suitable mallet.
6. Remove the bangle and size as needed. Join the ends for a closed bangle or finish the ends for an open bangle.

Notes

These dies are packed in a lubricant to prevent rust during storage. Remove the lubricant before use. After each use, apply a thin coating of oil to keep the dies rust-free. Aluminum spacers will deform during normal use — this is expected and does not affect performance.
