Otto Frei Mirror Polished "Naked" Pliers are handmade in a small family-owned factory in Germany, where the art of crafting high-quality tools has been passed down from generation to generation. The special mirror polish and detailed care given to their construction distinguish these pliers from similarly priced products. Perfectly balanced and shaped, these pliers feature precisely formed tips, the highest level of fit and finish available, and matched, true construction throughout.

The "Naked" designation means these pliers are completely mirror polished — including the handles — making them slightly more expensive than pliers with rubber grips that receive less hand polishing. They are also springless, made without the leaf springs found in the regular German plier line. Originally requested by the Revere Academy, these pliers are made in the same factory that produces the Revere pliers. The only difference is handle treatment: Otto Frei Naked pliers feature plain handles, while Revere pliers have scalloped dental-style handles.

All Otto Frei German-made pliers are constructed from tough carbon steel, which is longer lasting than stainless steel. Note that carbon steel will rust if exposed to moisture or the elements — keep pliers protected when not in use.
