The Val-Air 50-15AL (M-17190) is a super-silent, 1/2 HP, 4-gallon air compressor engineered for heavy-duty professional use in engraving, stonesetting, and metalsmithing studios. Operating at a whisper-quiet 40 dB, it delivers consistent, clean compressed air while protecting sensitive equipment such as GRS engraving systems with its built-in coalescing filtration. Capable of powering two engraving systems simultaneously — and used at trade shows running three apparatus at once — this compressor is well suited to both single-operator benches and multi-user shops.
The Val-Air 50-15AL builds on the Sil-Air 50-15 platform with three key upgrades: an aluminum pump housing with cooling fins to prevent overheating during continuous operation, an auto drain with waste bottle to capture moisture from the compression process, and an in-line coalescing filter rated to 0.01 micron — a requirement for protecting GRS Graversmith, Gravermax, Gravermate, Gravermax SC, Gravermax G-8, Gravermach, Gravermach AT, and GRS System 3 equipment. The 4-gallon tank features an internal paint coating to resist rust, and the unit provides automatic operation with thermal overload protection.
Recommended for use with GRS engraving systems and pencil bead blasters.

Maintenance Tip: Super Silent compressors use a specially formulated hygroscopic oil that draws moisture from air during compression. Change the oil regularly — if it appears milky white, it has been left too long. Check and empty the moisture trap near the output regulator when full. After each use, release compressed air from the tank to prevent condensation buildup that can cause internal rust. These steps protect the pump, internal components, and tank from water damage.
