Ring & Hoop Press-Transverse 24 by Wubbers

The Wubbers Ring & Hoop Press – Transverse 24 is a two-part steel die system with an outer sleeve designed to quickly form patterned square or round rings and hoops without the need for an expensive hydraulic press. Using this press, jewelers and metalsmiths can create textured rings and hoops from as small as 13 mm (1/2") inside diameter up to 36 mm (1-3/8") outside diameter using all types of wire. The Transverse 24 pattern die delivers distinctive surface texture to finished pieces, making it ideal for production work or creative exploration with patterned or plain wire.

To use, join the ends of your wire together, shape it on a mandrel to your desired diameter, then place it in the bottom die while the bottom die sits inside the outer sleeve. Set the top die over the ring — alignment pins on both inner dies fit into grooves on the outer sleeve for precise registration — then strike the top die with a suitable hammer or weighted rawhide mallet. The result is a cleanly formed, textured ring or hoop in seconds.
