Description

The Profiform 200 Gear Wheel is a precision replacement component designed to work in conjunction with the handle gear on the Profiform 200 forming and cutting system. This part is specially tempered to fail before more expensive internal components are damaged — functioning as a deliberate sacrificial element that protects the machine in the event of misalignment or overload.

Excellent product but poor postage options and unfulfilled promise

The product was excellent and I was able to repair the Profiform 200. The end result was successful. All the postage options to Australia were very expensive. These were advised in advance on the website and I chose a 2 day option. It cost over $100 USD to buy the $30 part and have it shipped by DHL. DHL took 3 times longer than advertised for it to arrive. The part was tiny, surely some other postage options should be available even if they take much longer. I asked Otto Frei for some advice on how to install the part. I happily received a reply that a technician would make contact. That never happened, but as it turned out I worked it out for myself. So my overall experience was an excellent product, let down by very expensive and limited postage options, that failed to deliver on time, plus a promise of assistance that never materialised.
