Some shapes appear more than once, differing only in cut grade or cut length, giving you useful redundancy for the bench.
Escapement files — also called watchmakers files — are the thinnest and smallest files made, engineered for the most delicate and precise filing work. Every Glardon-Vallorbe escapement file features a square handle and measures 5½" (14 cm) from tip to handle end. The millimeter figure always refers to the cut length, not the overall tip-to-tip measurement. Cut grades run from 00 (coarsest) to 6 (finest) — the higher the number, the finer the cut.
Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Precision Files are the world standard for quality and performance. Manufactured using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship, they are made from the finest heat-tempered chrome alloy steel for superior accuracy, cutting performance, and longevity on all metals. Formerly distributed by Grobet USA under the Grobet Swiss name, these files are now offered directly under the Glardon-Vallorbe brand. Limited to stock on hand.
