Glardon-Vallorbe Screwhead with Tang Precision Files are designed specifically for filing slots in small screws or narrow slots of any kind. Unlike standard precision files, screwhead files are numbered by thickness, not cut — the final number in the part number indicates the thickness of the file, not the cut grade. For example, LP1840-4-4 is a 4" file with a thickness of #4, which equals 0.55mm on this scale.
All screwhead files share the same cut type: single cut, applied only on the edges. Both flat sides are safe (uncut), making these files ideal for precise slot work without risk of unintended material removal on adjacent surfaces. Available in lengths of 3" and 4", with thicknesses ranging from 0.45mm to 0.80mm.
Glardon-Vallorbe file lengths are measured from the point where the teeth begin to the end of the file — the tang is not included in the stated length. A 6" precision file, for example, measures approximately 8½" overall from tip to end of tang.
