Glardon-Vallorbe Valtitan Half-Round Precision Files - LPV1560

Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Precision Files are the world's standard for quality and performance — manufactured to precise production standards using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship to produce the most accurate, best-cutting, and longest-lasting files available. Made from the finest heat-tempered chrome alloy steel, they deliver the right feel, action, and balance demanded by serious craftsmen. These files perform superbly on all metals. Formerly distributed by Grobet USA under the Grobet Swiss name.

The Valtitan Half-Round File takes performance further with a special treatment that increases hardness to 72 HRc on the Rockwell scale — the hardest steel file known. This process also makes the file corrosion resistant, extends its working life, and resists metal accumulation in the teeth: a simple knock is typically enough to clear chips. Valtitan files are especially recommended for platinum and other hard metals such as stainless steel, but they perform excellently across all metals. Note: starting in 2016, Valtitan files are no longer produced with yellow-painted tangs — the factory now imprints VALTITAN directly on the tang for identification.

This is the standard-size half-round file, tapered in both width and thickness and coming to a rounded point. Cut on both sides. Dimensions are measured at the thickest point of the file.

• File length is measured from where the teeth begin to the end of the file — not overall length. A 6 inch half-round file measures approximately 8-1/2 inches from tip to end of tang.
