The Glardon-Vallorbe Valtitan Three-Square Needle File is triangular in cross-section, gradually tapering to a rounded point, with all three sides cut. At 7 inches (180mm) in length, these files are sized for precise detail work at the bench. Available in Cut 0 Coarse and Cut 2 Medium.
Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss-Made Precision Files are the world's standard for quality and performance. Manufactured to precise production standards using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship, they are made from the finest heat-tempered chrome alloy steel. The result is a file with the right feel, action, and balance demanded by true craftspeople — delivering superior performance on all metals.
Valtitan files take that performance further. Specially treated to reach 72 HRc on the Rockwell scale, Valtitan is the hardest steel file known. This treatment also makes the files corrosion resistant, longer lasting, and highly resistant to metal loading — a simple knock is typically enough to clear chips from the teeth. Valtitan files are the preferred choice for platinum and other hard metals such as stainless steel, but perform exceptionally well across all metals. Note: starting in 2016, Valtitan files are no longer produced with yellow-painted tangs — the factory now imprints VALTITAN directly on the tang to identify them.
