Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Precision Files are the world's standard for quality and performance — and the Valtitan Three-Square is among the most capable files in the lineup. Manufactured to precise production standards using a combination of machine cutting and hand craftsmanship, these files are made from the finest heat-tempered chrome alloy steel. The result is exceptional accuracy, superior cutting action, and longevity that true craftsmen demand. Formerly distributed by Grobet USA under the name Grobet Swiss, Glardon-Vallorbe files deliver superior performance on all metals.

Valtitan files are specially treated to increase hardness to 72 HRc on the Rockwell scale — the hardest steel file known. This treatment makes them corrosion resistant, extends their working life, and helps resist metal accumulation in the teeth; a simple knock is usually enough to clear chips. Valtitan files are strongly recommended for platinum and other hard metals such as stainless steel, but perform exceptionally well across all metals. Note: starting in 2016, Valtitan files are no longer produced with yellow painted tangs — the factory now imprints VALTITAN directly on the tang to identify them.

Three-Square files are tapered and cut to the point. All measurements are taken at the thickest point of the file.

• File length is measured from where the teeth begin to the end of the file — not tip to tang. A 6-inch file will measure approximately 8½ inches overall, including the tang.
• Glardon-Vallorbe files are graded from 00 (coarsest) to 6 (finest). The higher the number, the finer the cut.
