The Vallorbe Swiss Eco Range Three-Square Machinist File LS5560 is a professional-grade engineers file designed for precise material removal on internal angles, grooves, and tight corners. The three-square (triangular) profile tapers toward the cut end but does not taper to a point, and all three sides are double cut for efficient, controlled stock removal. This file is offered in 6" (150mm) length with a Second Cut (Cut 2) finish, making it well suited for intermediate shaping and finishing work on metal.
Machinist files — also called engineers files — are manufactured to a different standard than jewelers precision files. Cut designations, tooth geometry, and overall dimensions differ between the two categories. On machinist files, a Bastard Cut (marked 1) is coarser than a jewelers file marked 1. Length measurements on machinist files are taken from the tip of the file to the point where the tang begins to angle up to the heel, which differs from how jewelers precision file lengths are measured.
Features
- Three-square (triangular) cross-section profile — also called Triangle Shape Machinist Files
- Tapers toward the cut end but does not taper to a point
- Double cut on all three sides for effective material removal
- Second Cut (Cut 2) tooth coarseness for intermediate shaping and smoothing
- Part of the Vallorbe Swiss Eco Range for machinist and engineering applications
- Swiss pattern construction — built to machinist/engineers file standards, not jewelers precision file standards

Notes
- Machinist files are made to a different standard than jewelers precision files — cuts, shapes, and dimensions differ between the two categories.
- A machinist file Bastard Cut (marked 1) is coarser than a jewelers file marked 1.
- Machinist file lengths are measured from the tip to the point where the tang begins to angle up toward the heel — this differs from the measurement convention used for jewelers precision files.
