Premium White 9-18 Silicon Free Casting Master Alloy-Per Troy Ounce (20DWT)

Part # 846-900 4 In Stock Weight -- lb -- g
Current price $8.60

Premium White 9–18 Silicon Free Casting Master Alloy is a professional-grade white gold master alloy formulated for both casting and fabrication applications. Sold by the troy ounce (20 pennyweights / 31.1 grams), this alloy contains no gold and is designed to be pre-alloyed with fine gold to produce white gold alloys from 9K through 18K. The formulation is noted as silicon free in its designation, though the manufacturer notes that proprietary metals, silicon, and deoxidizers may be present in the full composition.

Features

  • Suitable for casting and fabrication applications across 9K, 10K, 14K, and 18K white gold
  • Pre-alloying with fine gold is recommended, with aggressive stirring and fluxing to ensure uniform mixture
  • Boric acid is the recommended flux; carbon fluxes and refining fluxes (soda ash, saltpeter, etc.) should be avoided
  • Avoid flux in bottom-pour automatic casting units
  • Standard investment removers are compatible for investment removal; aggressive acids are not recommended due to risk of stress corrosion and surface damage
  • White gold alloy has approximately one-third the reusability of yellow gold alloys; a 70% fresh–30% scrap mix is recommended

Notes

Melt temperature may vary depending on the type of casting unit used. Fluxing is extremely important when working with white gold to ensure proper oxide pickup. The composition listed reflects the primary declared metals; proprietary metals and processing aids may also be present. Confirm all technical parameters are appropriate for your specific equipment and application before use.
