Sterling silver seamless hollow round tubing supplied in straight 12" (304.8 mm) lengths for hinge making, tube setting, and structural jewelry components. Smooth, continuous walls give a clean, bright edge around stones and along hinge knuckles.

Notes

For hinge making: Select a wire diameter slightly smaller than the tubing inside diameter (ID) so the hinge pin turns freely without binding.

For tube-setting faceted stones:

  • Choose a tubing OD approximately 0.5 mm larger than the stone and an ID smaller than the stone so it rests on a seat instead of falling through.
  • Use a setting bur the same size as the stone; if the stone falls between bur sizes, choose tubing the next size smaller and expand it slightly with a center punch.
  • This method produces a subtle taper in the setting that can be visually appealing and secure.
  • Bezel setting tools such as Part #153.154MA can speed up and standardize tube settings.
