Setting burs cut and true the seats that hold angular gemstones such as princess cut diamonds. The Busch Fig. 2K-AU carbide setting bur is engineered for exactly that work: when a stone is fitted into a square bezel, the edges of the gemstone and the corners of the setting are the critical areas, and the 2K-AU is designed to protect both.

What distinguishes the 2K-AU from a standard setting bur is its smooth, non-serrated front surface. That design prevents unwanted milling contact in the axial direction, so existing polished edges are not damaged during use. Where gravers cannot be applied to this work step, the 2K-AU offers an optimal alternative, letting the jeweler optimize the setting geometry to match the gemstone without risking edge damage.

Beyond bezel fitting, the 2K-AU also suits grain setting work, including cutting out or separating individual grains and removing the bars between neighboring gemstones. Its carbide construction delivers the durability and precise control that professional stone setters demand.

Mounted on a 3/32 in. shank and sold individually, in 10 sizes ranging from 0.60 mm–2.30 mm.
