La serie LX de Foredom es un motor especial de eje flexible de alta torsión y baja velocidad construido para el engastador de piedras de joyería. Es un motor de 115 V con rodamiento de bolas de imán permanente de 1/10 HP, RPM máximas 5000. Es el sucesor de las unidades de la serie EE, la serie R y la serie L original que ya no están en producción y que se desarrollaron para el engastador de piedras de joyería profesional. Los colocadores de piedra trabajan a bajas velocidades y necesitan motores de alto par que no se atasquen bajo carga.
