European Cowhide Bench Apron-Bench Skins-Cowhide Gray Standard Depth

Jewelers in Europe are familiar with using the classic leather bench apron or Bench Skin to catch their fillings. We import these top quality leather bench aprons from Germany to be used as catch trays. Made in the EU, these bench skins can be custom fitted to our John Frei workbenches or used with your own bench. These are cowhide version of the leather bench skin apron, a little lighter and not as substantial as our Bergeon bench skins.  Like them, they are hand sewn in the EU with reinforced edges, and they have a single grommet in front for hooking the apron up so they don't drop precious metals on the floor when not in use. These aprons have a canvas strips sewn on top that can be fasten using hooks, nails or staples to the underside of your workbench.  Also called a lap cloth or a jewelers leather lap apron.

TECH TIP: Leather aprons are easy to keep clean and make keeping precious metal scrap types separate a necessary procedure as you are much more likely to sweep up before moving on to another task when using a bench apron. To protect from accidental soldering damage, simple let the front of the apron hang lose or hook it back away from the danger zone when needed.
