The NC Black 41 Anticlastic/Raising Hammer is a dual-purpose metalsmithing tool built for serious bench work. Use it with a BHL Anticlastic Block to form anticlastic cuffs up to 2 inches wide, or deploy it as a mid-sized raising hammer to raise vessels from 6"–12" diameter blanks of 18-gauge metal. One well-balanced hammer, two essential forming techniques.
NC Black Company has been hand-fabricating metalsmith hammers in the USA since the early 1990s. Every NC Black tool is made one at a time by expert craftsmen and is 100% guaranteed by the factory in Mount Airy, North Carolina.
Each hammer is formed from high-grade tool steel using traditional cutting and shaping methods, producing exceptional performance and durability. The handmade wooden handle is expertly finished for comfort and long life at the bench.
