Description
Pavé setting in hard metal takes a bur that will hold its edge, and this set covers the second step of that job at the bench. Busch Fig 1AU Carbide Round Burs are engineered for the toughest metals, including platinum, titanium, and steel, and deliver long service life even on standard gold alloys. Carbide burs outlast tungsten vanadium and high-speed burs, which makes them more cost-effective over their working life. They are manufactured in Germany with a powerful blade geometry typically reserved for steel tools.
These carbide round burs are used for the second step of pavé setting in hard metals. After using the Carbide Twist Drill 4205S to drill starter holes in the first step, use the appropriate size Fig 1AU Carbide Round Bur to enlarge the hole. This creates a secure mount for the roundest portion of the gem being set. The smallest diameter burs are also suited for cutting in difficult-to-reach corner areas and fine refinishing work.
The complete kit covers 19 sizes from 0.50mm to 2.30mm, one bur of each, in a plastic bur box.
