The Busch Fig. 2K-AU Carbide Setting Bur is engineered specifically for the precise demands of setting angular gemstones such as princess cut diamonds. When fitting stones into square bezel settings, the edges of the gemstones and the corners of the settings are critical areas that require careful attention — and the 2K-AU is designed to protect both.

What distinguishes the 2K-AU from standard setting burs is its smooth, non-serrated front surface. This design prevents unwanted milling contact in the axial direction, ensuring that existing polished edges are not damaged during use. Where gravers cannot be applied to this work step, the 2K-AU offers an optimal alternative, allowing the jeweler to optimize the setting geometry to match the gemstone without risk of edge damage.

Beyond bezel fitting, the 2K-AU is also well suited for grain setting work — including cutting out or separating individual grains and removing the bars between neighboring gemstones. Its carbide construction delivers the durability and precision control that professional stone setters demand.
