Description
Chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline form of quartz, composed of tiny crystals too small to see with the naked eye. Natural black chalcedony is exceptionally rare — virtually all black chalcedony on the market is grey chalcedony that has been chemically treated to achieve its deep, shiny black color. Black chalcedony and its close relative black onyx are enduring favorites in jewelry design, historically prominent in Art Deco pieces and still widely used today for their bold, uniform appearance.
This closeout pack contains 15 marquise-shaped black chalcedony cabochons, each measuring 32x7mm. The elongated marquise silhouette and opaque black finish make these stones well-suited for statement rings, pendants, brooches, and other metalsmithing projects. Clean with warm, soapy water; ultrasonic and steam cleaning are generally considered safe for this material.
