Description

Great for understanding the Fundamentals

I have several of Alan Revere's books and they are all great. This book takes you from the very beginning, starting with the tools you will need, where to get them or how to make them yourself and shows you the basic techniques for setting different types of stones in different types of pieces. The pictures do a great job showing the techniques and the descriptions are very precise, explaining how to perform each step and why.

A must read for anyone making jewelry!

If you are looking for a book to start or advance jewelry techniques, whether you are student or experienced jeweler, look no further. This book is comprehensive guide, including formulas and tables for jewelers, explaining tools, best practices AND it has dozen of projects from simpler to complex ones with step by step, easy to read description and photos at each steps to guide you to a successful completion. You would be given access to Alan Revere’s 40 years of goldsmithing experience and teaching and he would walk you through creating : bangles, crochet chains, forged rings, basket pendants, solitaire cluster rings, etc. I cannot recommend it more. I love it and refer to this amazing book very often. A must read for anyone making jewelry!

This book holds great value

Professional Jewelry Making is one of my most used reference tools. I learn new techniques from the many projects in the book. I also love the appendix charts in the back which range from how to calculate the size of metal needed to gem care. This book holds a great value for jewelers and is worth every penny.

The best book I can recommend

My go-to book for everything jewelry related. This is a great resource with detailed photos to help you learn traditional goldsmithing. I have used this as a text book in my own education, a source of inspiration for self guided projects, and as a resource for the formulas and equations needed at the bench. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is passionate about learning professional techniques in goldsmithing.

More than a pro, Alan Revere makes jewelry making easy with his new book

I was lucky enough to own the original book that came out in the 90's. I read it many times and dogeared pages, wrote in the margins and built each project. Some more than once so I truly got it. This book changed my life as a professional jewelry maker. Now I find his new book is out and upon looking at it I see that each page is quite relevant for today's makers and it offers so many fantastic projects in step by step tutorial fashion. It is the quintessential bible for beginners, intermediate and advanced jewelry makers. I am already making some of the great projects. Even though I have been making jewelry for over 48 years the light bulb over my head still lights up like a Christmas tree when I see how Alan Revere thinks as he writes. Easy to read and even easier to follow instructions will take you on a new journey that will allow you to transfer to YOUR level of expertise . Any level! You won't be disappointed here folks. Get the book. You need it!
