Fretz HMR-302 Narrow Stretching Hammer

The Fretz HMR-302 Narrow Stretching Hammer is part of the Extra Large Silversmith Hammer line introduced by Bill and Jordan Fretz in 2015. Designed for moving thicker, heavy-gauge metals, these hammers let the weight of the head do the work — reducing strain on the arm and shoulders without sacrificing control or precision.

The HMR-302 features a cross-pein face shape similar to the HMR-301, but with narrower faces. This makes it the correct choice for stretching and moving metal from the inside within tight curves. It is also well suited for shaping the area around the opening of a form to dome it inward. For use with non-ferrous metals only.

Handles across the Extra Large Silversmith line are well-formed, smooth to the touch, and finished to a higher standard than the standard Fretz Large Silversmith line, with thicker diameters for improved grip. Heads are cast from 422 Stainless Steel with fully polished ends. This hammer is available individually; see part number 137.341-KIT for the set of 5.
