Every bur is Swiss made tungsten vanadium steel on a 3/32" diameter shaft, the most popular bur material in the jewelry industry, prized for machine-made uniformity and for working precious metal with no chatter or drag.

High Speed Steel (HSS) burs are individually hand cut and vary slightly from piece to piece. Tungsten vanadium burs are produced on modern equipment to ultra-high precision tolerances, which makes every bur in this set uniformly perfect. They are manufactured in Switzerland, where advanced machinery and Swiss steel hardening expertise combine to produce a consistently high-performing tool, and that is what makes this line Otto Frei's best-selling bur brand. Tungsten vanadium burs deliver excellent precision and value, though they are generally not as durable as USA-made HSS burs.

All burs in this set have 3/32" diameter shafts and are stored in the round plastic bur holder included with the kit.
