Description
This 6-spline combination ring stretcher, reducer, and bender is an improved entry-level tool for jewelers who need reliable sizing performance without the premium price. Compared to the original value line combo units, this version features better overall fit and finish — and a notably improved reducing plate that rivals the quality of Italian and UK-made machines. The stretcher mandrel is graduated and marked in USA ring sizes 3–15, making sizing fast and accurate.
The 6-spline design delivers a gentler, more gradual stretching action than 4-spline stretchers, reducing stress on the band during the sizing process. The upright stretcher expands on the down stroke of the handle, making it well-suited for stretching non-ferrous, non-stone-set plain wedding bands.
The double-sided reducing plate is smooth and polished — a significant upgrade over the crudely finished plates found on most tools in this price range. Both sides share the same range of holes but differ in the slope of the depressions, with one side more steeply cut than the other, allowing for slight compression and size reduction of narrow domed bands.
This combination tool also includes a built-in ring bending jig with a single flat die for forming and shaping ring stock into bands. The base features four mounting holes for securing the unit to a bench or worktable. Mounting hardware is not included. No instructions are included with this tool.
For non-ferrous metals only (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, etc.) — not for use on steel bands.
Operators must carefully inspect bands for previous sizing work. Bands that have been previously sized and soldered may split at the seam if stretching is attempted. Seamless precious metal wedding bands can be enlarged using this stretcher; how much depends on the thickness and type of band. Thin bands size up less than thicker bands. The reducing plate is used to slightly reduce plain round precious metal wedding bands — typically not more than 0.5 of a USA finger size, depending on band thickness and width.
