Ruby Midget Files in a triangular profile offer jewelers, engravers, and mold-and-die professionals a precision abrasive tool built from pure, sintered crystals of synthetic ruby. Made in Germany under the Degussit name, these files contain no bonding material, which makes them exceptionally hard and highly resistant to changes in shape — a critical quality for precision grinding and fine finishing work. The files hold their shape well during use and can be reshaped or adjusted using diamond wheels and burs when needed.
Ruby stones and files are the ideal choice for deburring, blending, dressing, and fine polishing of molds and dies made of hard metals such as hardened tool steel, carbide, and surgical stainless steel. Jewelers rely on them for sharpening carbide and high-speed steel engravers and other cutting tools. Because of their outstanding resistance to wear, Degussit Ruby Files are more economical in the long term than comparable abrasive tools.
