The Durston Professional Front-Flush End Cutter 115mm is engineered for precision cutting with blades oriented perpendicular to the handles, delivering greater cutting leverage and closer access to flat surfaces. Designed for jewelers and metalsmiths who demand repeatable, clean cuts in tight workspaces, this cutter combines thoughtful construction with ergonomic comfort for extended bench use.
The tool is built with a lap joint construction, where one half of the joint overlaps the other with a screw set through both halves. This design allows the joint tension to be adjusted as needed over the life of the tool.
A double-leaf spring—made from flat, tempered metal tabs attached to the inside of each handle—holds the handles apart and jaws open until squeezed closed, providing a fast, strong rebound that supports efficient, high-volume cutting tasks.
The ergonomic poly handles are shaped for a comfortable, secure grip, helping to reduce hand fatigue during extended work sessions.

Important: Durston cutters are not guaranteed. Cutting capacity limits reference soft copper wire only—metal alloys commonly used in jewelry are significantly harder. All flush cutters are delicate instruments. Use the middle of the cutting edge whenever possible, and exercise particular care when cutting near the tips.
Avoid cutting nickel-based white gold alloys. If tip damage occurs, grinding the undamaged side to match the damaged side can extend the usable life of the tool. Dents in the cutting surface indicate the metal being cut exceeds the cutter's hardness limits. As commonly used in the jewelry industry, flush cutters should be considered consumable, labor-saving tools.
