It’s an easy way to evaluate toolpaths, feeds/speeds, and finishing—either on your CNC mill or with traditional wax tools—before committing to full-size stock.

Ferris Turquoise

Designed to bridge the hand-carving / CAD-CAM gap. Combines the high-speed CNC properties of Ferris Gold with the superior hand-carvability of Ferris Blue.

• For Hand Carving: Reams easily; very smooth processing; exceptional surface finish in recessed areas; great viscosity for build-ups; doesn’t clog rotary files; responds well to hand files and sandpaper.
• For Milling: Superior strength, toughness, and flexibility; not brittle—forgiving on very fine details (e.g., prongs); minimal swarf that brushes off easily.

Ferris Gold (Wolf Milling Wax / Wolf Gold)

Formulated for today’s high-speed milling machines. Handles extremely high spindle speeds, resists chipping in thin sections, and cleans up quickly.

• For Milling: High pliability and toughness allow ultra-thin cross sections with intricate detail; minimal tool-path residue; models clean up easily and burn out completely.
• For Hand Carving: Also an excellent carving wax when you want the same material for both hand and CNC workflows.
• Visualization: Gold-like tone helps clients envision yellow-metal results before casting.

Ferris Orange (Wizard Wax)

Purpose-built for milling; the hardest of the three in this kit. Developed after Wolf Gold for maximum machining stability at very high spindle speeds.

• For Milling: Stands up to modern high-speed cutting; produces a superior surface finish; harder than Ferris green carving wax but less brittle—so you can mill the finest details with reduced risk of breakage.
• For Hand Carving: Also works well with conventional carving techniques.
