The 5-1/8" flat nose pliers are the most popular size in the Otto Frei lineup — and for good reason. Handmade by a small, family-run cottage factory in Germany, these mirror-polished flat nose pliers are built to professional jeweler standards from the ground up. The process begins with drop forging from special alloyed steel, followed by careful assembly and grinding. Box joints are individually adjusted for smooth action, and jaws are matched exactly for precise alignment. The pliers are then heat treated for enhanced hardness before receiving a final mirror polish. Every pair is meticulously inspected before being stamped with the Otto Frei name.

Adjustable double leaf springs provide consistent, responsive action, while tough vinyl grips deliver comfortable control during extended bench work. With a jaw length of 23 mm and an overall length of 5-1/8", these pliers strike the ideal balance between reach and control for everyday jeweler tasks.
