Product Details

Limited Time Offer-Includes MAFH120 134.410ASSTDF  5-pack assorted replacement dust filters (2 Each Poly, Combo Carbon/Poly & 1 Pleated filter).

The New Foredom Filter Hood contains a dual voltage (110V/220V) variable speed suction motor making it the perfect mini dust collector for the small workshop.

Developed to work with Foredom's Bench Lathe, the new Filter Hood is a compact, powerful and portable self- contained mini power dust collection system. Use it next to a bench lathe or move anywhere in the workshop where you need particle collection. Great for collecting precious metal debris, as the replaceable filters do more than just keep the dust down, they become more valuable as you use them. If you work with precious metals, be sure to save up your dirty filters and send them in to your refiner with the rest of your precious metal scrap for a pleasant financial bonus!

The MAFH25 has a variable speed motor that operates in 110 or 220 voltage using a switch on the side. It offers strong suction power for removing particles of hazardous dust and reclaiming precious metal. The Filter Hood is made of powder coated, heavy gauge steel and is CE compliant. It has a removable metal watertight tray, a gooseneck mounted bright long lasting LED light, and a clear acrylic shield. Comes with three filters which are easy to change and ship to a refiner.

The MAFH25 filter hood is for particulate dust collection only, and is not recommended for smoke/solder fume/plating fume filtering. Otto Frei offers several systems for smoke/solder fume/plating fume filtering.

Excellent and necessary piece of equipment!

An exhaust system is necessary if you want to save your lungs from the particles from grinding and polishing jewelry. If your budget is limited and you don't have a lot of space in your workshop I strongly recommend the Foredom MAFH25 dust collector. Buy the pleated filters because they trap most of the smaller particles produced. I also recommend still using an N100 dust mask while polishing to ensure you're getting maximum protection (I polish leaded enamel on fine silver jewelry).
The system is compact and surprisingly not noisy. The light included is excellent and very bright and convenient. You can set the system on your bench and get it out of the way when not in use.
Expensive? Relatively. Worth it? YES! I need one more dust collector for the other spindle of the polishing motor.
Your workspace will be cleaner but most of all your lungs will appreciate it.

Great Machine!

Wow! For such a small machine, this little guy really is a work horse. Well built and looks nice. Down side is it is kind of loud, and there is a 3 inch black knob on the back that doesn't allow me to push the whole thing back and out of the way when I am not using it. Small considerations when I take into account that it is clearing the air of particulates that would be inhaled and frees me from the hated mask that fogs up the glasses.
