A half-round ring file is the file you reach for when the work is inside the band: a flat face on one side and a shallow radius on the other, slim enough to sit in a ring and cut where a standard half-round will not fit. Thinner in width than a standard half-round file, this profile slips easily inside rings for precise interior work. The cross section is flat on one side with a radius (not a half-circle) on the other, and both sides are cut. Width and thickness taper toward the tip for controlled access in tight areas.
Starting in 2015, Grobet Swiss Pattern Precision Files have been manufactured in Italy. Files marked "Swiss Made" were made by Glardon-Vallorbe of Switzerland, and genuine Swiss Made precision files are now sold as Glardon-Vallorbe Precision Files (LP1566), available in a wide variety of lengths and cuts.
