Product Details

The GRS 003-727 is an aluminum objective auxiliary lens adapter engineered specifically for the Leica A60 microscope. Manufactured by GRS in the United States, this adapter solves a critical limitation: Leica's own objective lens adapter (part number 129.458) reduces the zoom range from 6:1 to 5:1. The GRS adapter preserves the full 6:1 zoom range standard to the Leica A60, giving professionals the complete magnification performance their microscope was designed to deliver.

The Leica A60 was not originally designed to accept objective auxiliary lenses — Leica engineered the A60 to provide satisfactory working distance for most applications without them. However, jewelers working with a wide variety of workholding setups and objects of varying sizes often benefit from extended working distance. Objective auxiliary lenses increase working distance while decreasing magnification, and with this GRS adapter installed, the Leica A60F can accept three different Leica Objective Auxiliary Lenses to achieve different working distances, fields of view, and magnification ranges.

Importantly, the GRS adapter does not change the working distance of the auxiliary lens used with it compared to using the Leica adapter — the advantage is exclusively the preserved 6:1 zoom range.

Notes

Installation: Unscrew the Leica lens cover that protects the primary lenses. Screw in the GRS lens adapter. Screw in the Leica objective auxiliary lens. Finally, screw the Leica lens cover onto the Leica objective auxiliary lens.
