Miller Smith H743 Flashback Arrestors-Torch Mounted-Pair

Caution-For larger torches with B (9/16" connections) on the torch body itself.

Use this set of two combination flashback arrestors and check valves between the torch and the hose. Fits our casting and melting torches (114.375 & 114.395) with type B (9/16" connections). These combination flashback arrestors will not fit on the bodies of the Little Torch, Meco Midget Torch, the Swiss Torch or the Swiss Torch II. Use the combination flashback arrestors/check valves number 114.389 for the Little Torch, the Meco Midget Torch, the Swiss Torch or the Swiss Torch II.

(114.389 is a pair of regulator mounted combination flashback arrestors with built in check valves, one for the oxygen connection, and one for the gas. They look exactly like these 114.391 torch mounted versions but have flow restrictions that go in the opposite direction. There are no torch mounted flashback arrestors that will fit the Little Torch, the Meco Midget Torch or either of the Swiss Torches).

What is a flashback? A flashback is an ignition of mixed gases in an oxy-fuel cutting and welding system.

Are flashback arrestors and check valves the same? No. A check valve stops the reverse flow of gas; a flashback arrestor extinguishes a flashback fire. A Miller Smith flashback arrestor with built-in check valve does both.

Why do I need a flashback arrestor? Mixed gas explosions and flashback fires can result in damage to equipment and/or severe personal injury or death. A Miller Smith flashback arrestors with built-in check valves help prevent accidents caused by the reverse flow of gases and flashback fires.

What is the minimum pressure required to allow gas to flow through the flashback arrestors? The built-in check valve requires a minimum of 2 psi to open allowing gas to flow through.
